We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
We only collect your email address if you set up a price alert. We also log anonymous click data (store, product, timestamp), no personal information.
If you create a price alert, we store your email address, the alert criteria (target price or discount threshold), the country you selected, your preferred language, and a record of when you ticked the consent checkbox (timestamp + IP). The legal basis is your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6 (1)(a)). You will receive at most one email per 24 hours per alert while your criteria are met. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can manage or delete your alerts at any time at /alerts. Withdrawing consent has no consequence other than the alert no longer firing.
Email delivery is handled by Resend (Resend, Inc., Delaware, USA), routed through their EU region (Frankfurt) where possible. The transfer to Resend is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Hosting is on Hetzner (Germany). We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising trackers.
We use only strictly necessary cookies: a language-preference cookie set by next-intl, and (only after you sign in to manage your alerts) a signed session cookie that identifies your email for that browser. Other preferences (theme, last filter) are stored in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted to us.
We do not use any third-party trackers, advertising networks, or analytics tools.
Your data is never sold or shared with third parties beyond the service providers listed above.
When you click a buy link, we may earn a small commission from the destination store. The destination store may set its own cookies once you arrive, those are governed by the store's privacy policy, not ours.
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for you, for our place of business in Hamburg this is the Hamburgischer Beauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (https://datenschutz-hamburg.de). To exercise any of these rights, email support@guthabencheck.de. We aim to respond within 30 days.
You can delete any alert (and its associated email address record) yourself at /alerts, via the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or by emailing support@guthabencheck.de.
Alert email addresses are kept until you delete the alert. Magic-link sign-in tokens are kept for 30 days for audit purposes, then purged. Anonymous click logs (store, product, timestamp) are retained indefinitely for affiliate reconciliation.
